A team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrived in Goa from Mumbai on Thursday to investigate a trail of drugs which emerged from the probe into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Interrogation of actor Rhea Chakraborty in the Rajput death case had revealed a narco trail to Goa. On the radar of the NCB team is a cafe owner from Anjuna who is being interrogated. This is the third instance in recent weeks indicative of rampant illegal narcotics trade in Goa. Early this month, police stumbled upon evidence of narco-trade after a private underground party at Arpora turned violent and the dispute landed up at the Anjuna police station where an FIR is booked.
Last week too, a rave party held at an upmarket villa complex in Vagator was busted by the Crime Branch of the Goa Police.
Drugs worth Rs 9-lakhs were seized, including cocaine, MMDA, charas among others were seized. A B-list yesteryear bollywood actor Kapil Jhaveri, said to be the "organiser" of the rave party was arrested. Jhaveri got bail earlier this week and is charged under the stringent NDPS Act.
Three other foreigner women who were also arrested and charged under NDPS Act are in judicial custody.
