Stabbing case: Accused gets 12-day custody

MAPUSA
A Mapusa court on Thursday remanded one of the accused who was involved in the stabbing of the Calangute youth to 12 days in police custody. The accused Rahul Mayekar was the 13th accused arrested in the case who was apprehended on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Goa Police are yet to lay their hands on Manoj Singh, brother of notorious criminal Gajendra Singh (alias Chotu), who is also involved in the stabbing case.

The 30-year-old youth from Calangute, Ravi Shirodkar was stabbed in his abdomen in the wee hours of Saturday (October 1) near the Arpora-Nagoa circle. He was shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim where he underwent a surgery. Anjuna Police is investigating further.
