Union Minister Shripad Naik and a number of state BJP leaders have been included in the party’s national executive committee.
Members in the national executive committee include Union Minister Shripad Naik, former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar and BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade.
Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and the health minister have been included as special invitees in the national executive committee.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Deputy Chief Ministers Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar and Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar are de facto members in the national executive.
These appointments were announced on Thursday.
Admitting he was pleasantly surprised over this appointment, Godinho thanked the party central leadership for recognising his work.
“Being in the central executive committee of the nation’s largest party in the world’s largest democracy is really an honour,” said Mauvin Godinho.
The health minister also said it was an honour to be appointed as special invitee of the national executive committee.
