Goa continues to face higher-than-average temperatures, with both main weather stations at Panaji and Mormugao recording temperatures above 33 degrees Celsius on Friday, which is 0.5 degrees higher than normal. Luckily, there have been no recorded heatwaves so far.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa, the State is expected to experience two heatwave days between April and June.
The Directorate of Health Services, IMD, and the State Disaster Management Authority have already issued a health advisory to the general public to stay safe from the heat by staying hydrated even if not thirsty, wearing loose cotton garments, staying indoors, especially from 12 noon to 3 pm, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during afternoon hours, etc.
