Ministers and MLAs will attend the events in their respective talukas, Sawant said, even as he appealed to the general public to join in and make yoga a part of their lives.

According to Sawant, himself an AYUSH professional, Yoga can help arrest the rise of non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension, incidence of which is rapidly rising in the State.

He said, along with yoga, the State government is also planning to promote the awareness on the benefits of including millet in regular diets.
