In a major step towards green energy, the Goa government has signed an agreement with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, to develop 300 MW of renewable power in the state. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and NTPC REL in the presence of CM Pramod Sawant.
NTPC REL will help the state generate 300 MW or more of renewable energy, with or without energy storage systems, in Goa. According to a press statement, this partnership will help increase Goa’s use of renewable energy and support its sustainability goals.
The project will focus on setting up large solar or wind plants and will also include energy storage systems to maintain grid stability and ensure reliable supply.
