A state level seminar on ‘Demystifying the NAAC Assessment and Accreditation process’ will be conducted at in Sankruti Bhavan in Patto-Panaji on August 11 and 12.
The seminar has been organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Vidhya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management in association with Directorate of Higher Education and Centre for Educational Development Administration (CEDA), Pune.
Addressing a news conference, Vidhya Prabodhini College Principal Dr Bhushan Bhave said the objectives of the seminar are to educate participants about the revised Accreditation framework of the National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) and to help participants understand the documentation process for IIQA, AQAR and SSR to enable them to prepare and present data.
The seminar is also aimed at orienting participants towards developing a quality maintenance culture in higher educational institutions outcomes.
The sessions will be conducted by resource persons from Centre for Educational Development Administration (CEDA) Pune.
“The importance of NAAC assessment and accreditation has grown over the years especially since Rastriya Utchatar Shiksha Ayog (RUSA) funding has been linked to NAAC scores. Around 70 participants are expected to participate in this seminar. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be the chief guest at the concluding part of the seminar,” said Dr Bhave.
Chairman of Prabodhan Education Society Sanjay Walawalkar said the Vidhya Prabodhini College has been envisaged to meet the social and educational needs of the society.
“Vidhya Prabodhini College has been assessed and accredited by the NAAC with B+ Grade on a seven point scale under the new framework. The government has allotted a plot to the Prabodhan Education Society to set up a primary section,” said Walavalkar.
Arun Marathe and Rajkumar Dessai also spoke at the news conference.
