Asserting that his statement on BJP and Aam Aadmi Party was twisted, Congress candidate Francisco Sardinha said the row will not impact his winning prospects in any manner and said people are not fools to believe in these vested interests.
Asserting that he did not make any such statement to the media asking people to vote for the BJP, Sardinha said “All I said was that the AAP factor will not affect me because it is the B team of the BJP”.
While speaking to the media at Curtorim, Sardinha while commenting on APP had said that people are wise and nobody will vote for the party because it is the B team of the BJP.
He continued, “Yesterday, I met some people. Sir, he said, what you think people are mad, instead of voting for AAP, it’s better to vote for BJP, because at least they will acknowledge. These people don’t have even one per cent chance of winning, so why should anybody waste his vote, that’s what somebody told me yesterday, I was surprised.”
Sardina said those who tried to twist his statement with the intention of making political capital will be sadly mistaken, saying people of Goa had already decide to vote for the Congress this
time round.
