A tragic road accident near Delta Hotel in Chorla Ghat claimed the life of a car driver on the spot. The accident occurred when a stone-laden truck bearing registration number GA-04-T-8192 collided violently with a car registered in Belagavi. Preliminary information indicates that the truck driver fled the scene following the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Shyam alias Ravalnath Tuljai, aged 42, a resident of Vadgaon. The impact was so severe that the car was extensively damaged and the driver became trapped inside the vehicle.
As soon as information about the accident was received, Khanapur Police rushed to the spot. The assistance of the Fire and Emergency Services was sought to rescue the driver trapped inside the damaged car. The rescue team carried out the necessary operation and recovered the body.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the stone-laden truck did not stop after the accident and fled from the scene. Police have therefore begun efforts to trace the driver and are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
The police are also examining the route taken by the truck, the exact circumstances that led to the collision, and the position and movement of both vehicles at the time of the accident.
The family members of the deceased are mourning the tragic loss.
