Stray dogs menace at Morjim
PERNEM: With a sharp rise in the number of stray dogs at Morjim beach, the Morjim Ekvott has demanded action to curb the menace.
Concerns have been raised after a foreigner had sustained grievous injuries when he was attacked by dogs at Morjim beach as few months ago.
“We want the authorities to curb this menace,” said Morjim Ekvott president Vasant alias Aba Shetgaonkar.
A local businessman, Sudesh Dabholkar said stray dogs are posing a problem for the tourists in the area.
“If someone goes for a walk on the beach in the wee hours, they are attacked by dogs. The stray dogs disturb the peace of locals and tourists at night,” he added.
