Strict curbs on borders soon, compulsory tests for entry

PANAJI

Goa is soon to tighten its borders and possibly make Covid testing mandatory for those seeking to enter the State, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant indicated on Thursday.

His office said that the State government will take a decision shortly on whether to make it mandatory for those seeking to enter the State to be tested for Covid.

Sawant himself took a trip to the check-post at Keri which borders Karnataka to get an update on the vehicle movement in and out of the State.

Traffic through the borders will be monitored for the next 24 hours and an appropriate decision on whether to make a Covid test mandatory for those entering the State will be taken, the CMO said.
