In his objection filed with returning officer Paresh Faldesai, Dhavalikar had claimed that Shet had a contract with government organisation to clean the Assembly complex and the Secretariat. However, Shet produced documents to prove that the firm was no longer on his name, but transferred it on his spouse’s name.
The firm M/s Mahalasa Service initially registered on Pradeep Shet’s name is now transferred on his wife’s name.
Dhavalikar’s other objection was that two criminal cases were pending against Shet. However, in this case, Shet has clarified that only one case was pending in the JMFC, which is not finalised.
“The nomination papers filed by Pradeep Shet is accepted and the objection raised by objector, Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar is rejected,” stated Faldesai in the order.
Addressing a news conference in the hotel owned by him in Ponda, Pradeep Shet said ‘chamatkar’ would take place in this assembly election. “This chamatkar will make me win by defeating Sudin Dhavalikar.”
“He raised objection against my nomination out of frustration. He has come to know that he will be defeated,” Shet said.
According to Shet, during the door-to-door visits in Marcaim, he felt that there is terror in the constituency. “My victory will end this terror,” he added.
When asked if post poll alliance with MG Party would be welcomed, Shet said: “I have accepted the ticket only on condition that such thing will not happen. I have cleared my views with the party leaders.”
