Ahead of the weekend celebrations, Team Yuri has appealed to the people of Goa and well-wishers to attend the birthday event of Cuncolim MLA and Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Cuncolim Congress Block president Assiz Noronha said they are proud to organise the event as Alemao respects people’s views and aspirations.
Cuncolim Municipal Councillor Mariano Soares, Paroda panch Shailesh Jotkar, Savio Gomes, and Joaquim D’Souza were also present.
Noronha said the celebration will be held on 16 November at 5 pm at the open space near the football ground at the KTC bus stand in Cuncolim.
“We are proud of our MLA Yuri Alemao as he listens to people and works for their needs. He has given many facilities to the people of Cuncolim,” Noronha said, adding that sports activities have also received a boost since he became MLA.
“We expect people from across the state to attend as Yuri Alemao has become the voice of the people. As a first-time MLA and the youngest Leader of the Opposition, he has raised every issue affecting the common man, the environment, and the state,” he added.
Noronha urged the people of Goa to attend the celebration and bless Alemao so he remains encouraged to serve the state.
Shailesh Jotkar also praised Alemao’s work, saying he has resolved many issues in Paroda.
Mariano Soares said working under Alemao’s leadership has always been encouraging. “He has done a lot for the municipal area, so we decided to celebrate his birthday by inviting people from across the state,” he said.
