Swar Vedh finals at Panaji today

PANAJI: Six contestants reached the final round of late Smt Mandatai Bandekar Smruti all Goa youth classical vocal competition 'Swar Vedh' organised by Shadj Gandhar Music Academy (SGMA) at Multipurpose Hall, Patto, Panaji. The finalists are Yogita Raikar, Prasad Kambli, Prachiti Gogate, Prachi Jathar, Saiesh Pendse and Ritishka Vernekar.

The semifinal was held on January 15. A total of 28 participants took part in the semifinal, at which the judges were Pt Ramesh Sukhtankar and Pradeep Naik. The accompanists were Dattaraj Mhalshi and Prasad Gawas on harmonium, and Raghoba Chari and Chetan Naik on tabla.

The final will be held on January 29, the birthday of late Mandatai at the same venue. The first winners will be awarded cash prizes, trophies and certificates
