MARGAO
In a move aimed at promoting the health and well-being of tiatr artists, the Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) has announced a special medical camp along with a blood donation camp to be held on May 4 in Margao.
The announcement was made by TAG President Anthony Barbosa, who stressed the importance of healthcare among tiatrists. The medical camp is being organised in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, and the National Association of Palliative Care for Ayush and Integrative Medicine. The blood donation camp is being conducted with support from the Blood Bank of Goa Medical College and Ravindra Bhavan.
As per details, the blood donation camp will be held on Monday, May 4 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interested donors can register in advance via WhatsApp or by calling Anthony Barbosa.
Speaking about the initiative, Barbosa said that tiatr artists often face difficulties in maintaining their health due to hectic performance schedules. “There are several instances where tiatr artists struggle to balance their work and health. Keeping in mind these hardships, this medical camp has been organised so they can avail maximum benefits,” he said.
He further urged tiatrists to come forward in large numbers and participate in the camps. “This initiative will certainly help the tiatr community, and I appeal to all to take advantage of the services provided,” he added.
The medical camp will offer a range of services including HbA1c testing, ECG, physiotherapy, diabetes consultation, blood pressure check-ups, and diet advice. Alongside, the blood donation drive aims to encourage voluntary donations, with organisers highlighting that a single donation can help save up to three lives.
All donors participating in the drive will be issued voluntary blood donor cards from Goa Medical College.
TAG officials expressed hope that the initiative will not only address immediate health concerns but also create awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups and voluntary blood donation among artists and the general public.
