The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Baina-Vasco, will organise the 6th All Goa Inter HSS/College/University Level Tiatr Competition 2026-27 from September 29 to October 7.
The performances will be held at 3.30 pm daily at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco, with seven educational institutions from across Goa participating in the competition.
The competition will open on September 29 with Kala Academy’s College of Theatre Arts, Ponda presenting ‘Munisponacho Dhorm’, written by Avinash Chari and directed by Shrikant Gaude.
St Xavier’s College, Mapusa will stage ‘Tuje Vinnem...’, written by Fr Luis Gomes and directed by Nilesh Mahale, on September 30, followed by Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao, which will present ‘Guneav Konnacho?’ on October 1. The tiatr is written and directed by Shane Jaydon D’Cruz.
After a day’s break, DCT’s S S Dempo College, Cujira, will present ‘Dev Nirmita Toxem’, written by Velriza Pereira and directed by Maverick Alvares, on October 3.
Carmel College, Nuvem, will stage ‘Khori Girestkai’, written by Cialini Fernandes and directed by Agnelo Dias, on October 5. Goa University, Taleigao, will present ‘Xim-mer Asonk Zai’, written and directed by Anil Pednekar, on October 6.
The final presentation on October 7 will be ‘Tunch Amkam Pav’ by Government College, Quepem, written by William Fernandes and directed by Gautam Gaude.
TAG president Anthony Barbosa appealed to tiatr lovers, students and the public from Vasco and surrounding areas to attend the performances and encourage young talent.
The initiative seeks to promote the traditional art form of tiatr and encourage young Goans to take up writing, direction and acting.
