The Talathi at the Mormugao Mamlatdar office on Tuesday filed a police complaint regarding the printer which was stolen from the office on Saturday night.
Speaking to reporters, the talathi, Amresh Naik, also requested authorities to ensure that the Mamlatdar office is provided with CCTV cameras as a security measure.
“The printer went missing on Saturday night and when I arrived to office on Sunday for our routine Covid-related works, I was surprised that the printer was not there. The printer is usually attached to my computer and I did not know who took the printer. I also enquired with other office staff.”
“We waited for two days, in case anyone had to return the printer but no one came forward and I then filed a police complaint in this regard.
“We have also intimated the matter to the Dy Collector and requested him to have CCTV cameras installed in our office as a security measure. We have a lot of important files, documents and data in our possession and there could be a serious situation if these documents or papers are stolen.”
“The CCTV will help us monitor the situation during peak hours as well and we have also informed the Mamlatdar to offer security measures at our office,” said Naik.
