Tawadkar launches Canacona Jagruti Manch

Giving in to growing demands from his loyalists and former BJP activists, former minister Ramesh Tawadkar launched the Canacona Jagruti Manch (CJM) and said the forthcoming panchayat elections would be rnfought under the newly-formed group.

The launch of CJM was announced at a public meeting convened by Tawadkar at Shristhal panchayat hall on Friday, where former BJP workers decided to keep a tab on the political, social and cultural developments in the constituency under Tawadkar’s leadership of CJM.   
Prominent leaders at the meet were ZP Dr Pushpa Aiya, who reiterated her commitment to stay and carry on her social, political and cultural works in close rapport with Tawadkar.   
The councillors, who stood behind Tawadkar during the assembly polls, including Dayanand Pagui, Hemant Naik Gaunkar, Guru Komarpant and former CMC chairperson Samir Dessai were also present to show their solidarity and spoke on 
formation of a new entity in the taluka.   
Gaondongrim Sarpanch Barkello Velip said people in large numbers still visit the former MLA for their day-to-day needs. Palolem councillor Pagui, Mahesh Varik and Sanjay Komarpant also spoke at the event.   
Councilors and other prominent leaders present at the meeting vouched to elect the panel backed by CJM and to continue the work 
initiated by the former BJP minister.

Dabolim-Calangute KTC AC bus service relaunched

The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) on Friday re-launched its air-conditioned bus service between Dabolim airport and Calangute, to provide transportation exclusively for airport passengers.
