A tragic accident in Pirna on Sunday evening claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy, a resident of Calangute, and left a 16-year-old seriously injured after their motorcycle crashed into an electricity pole.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 pm when a group of four boys was returning from Amthane Dam.
One of the riders lost control of his Bullet motorcycle and collided with an electricity pole, resulting in severe injuries to both the rider and the pillion passenger.
They were rushed to the North Goa District Hospital at Peddem, where the 14-year-old was declared dead on arrival.
The 16-year-old is currently undergoing treatment for serious injuries.
Following the incident, the Colvale police conducted a panchanama and registered an offence.
Further investigation into the accident is underway.
