The Shree Sharada Seva Sadhana Pratisthan has expressed its gratitude to TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai for helping the Trust to get the zone of their land changed to institution from orchard which would go a long way to realise their dream of setting up an old age home at Dramapur.

Addressing the media, Chairman of the Trust Prakash Prabhudesai said the project, which was delayed by around 10 years, after their land admeasuring 2800 square meters are changed to orchard zone, can now commence for providing services to the needy senior citizens and women.

“Under the guidance of the TCP Minister, the entire plot admeasuring 3840 square meters was converted into Institution zone. We were surprised to read about the criticism of the TCP Minister on the ground that the conversion of zone are being allowed by him for selfish motives and obtaining illegal gratification. We want to clear such mis-propaganda because the zone change of the plot of the trust has been done without any expectation or demand”, he said, adding that the Trust is now planning to start work on the project at the earliest.

Prabhudesai explained that the plot purchased by the Trust, at the time of the purchase in the year 2008, was party having settlement zone to the extent of 2800 square meters and orchard zone admeasuring 1040 square meters.

“At the time of preparing the RP 2011, the Trust had applied to the Chief Town Planner for converting the orchard area of 1040 square meters also as settlement zone so that the trust would be able to utilize the entire area of plot for the purpose of construction of providing an old age home and hostel for lady students and working ladies, along with kitchen sand other facilities. However, the trust was surprised to see that instead of allowing additional area for settlement zone, the TCP department provided orchard zone of the entire area”, he added.
