Responding to a tip from Assam Police, the Vasco Railway Police detained one Rajen Adar Ram Singha alias Shyamal Roy (34) of Ghorukhgaj, West Bengal along with a minor girl.
Singha has been accused in an offence at the Barpeta Police station under Section 366 (A) of IPC. Singha was nabbed at Vasco Railway Station by a Railway Police team under the supervision of PSI Yeshwant Raikar. The accused was arrested under Section 41 CrPC and the minor girl was lodged at Apna Ghar in Merces for care and protection.
On Saturday, the Vasco Railway Police handed over the accused to a police team from Barpeta-Assam as per the orders of a JMFC Court.
