A rashly driven Mahindra Thar allegedly caused a serious three-vehicle accident near Blueberry, Verna, on Sunday afternoon, leaving a 25-year-old scooter rider injured and causing extensive damage to the vehicles involved.

According to Verna Police, the Mahindra Thar, driven by Shikar Shetty, a resident of Colvale, was proceeding towards Verna when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near Blueberry. The Thar first rammed into a Hyundai Creta carrying three occupants. The impact caused the SUV to jump the road divider and enter the opposite carriageway, where it crashed head-on into a Jupiter scooter ridden by Sintoo Mitthu Lal, 25, a resident of Upasnagar and a native of Uttar Pradesh.

The force of the collision trapped the scooter underneath the Thar, while all three vehicles were thrown off the road. The Jupiter scooter was completely damaged.

Sintoo Mitthu Lal sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. Police said he was later discharged after receiving medical care and is now out of danger.

Verna Police rushed to the scene, conducted a spot inspection and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
