PANAJI
Goa's 14th Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will follow the same path shown by Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar, the former's wife Sulakshana said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony near Panaji in which her husband and eight other ministers were administered oath of office and secrecy, Sulakshana also said that the past swearing-in experience in 2019 flashed before her eyes as she saw her husband and Sanquelim MLA take oath once again.
"I am feeling glad. It reminds me of the swearing-in ceremony on March 18, 2019. But there was a tinge of sadness at that swearing-in (ceremony), because our big leader Manohar Parrikar had died. But Dr Pramod Sawant worked on the same path shown by Parrikar and for the third straight time a BJP government could be established in Goa," Sulakshana said.
"The past experience flashed before my eyes. We are following the footsteps of our political guru Manohar Parrikar and it will be a BJP government which is a nationalist government, which works on the Antodaya principle towards building society," said Sulakshana, who is also a state BJP office bearer.
