Three arrested for assault in Vasco
VASCO: Vasco Police arrested three persons on charges of assaulting a 21-year-old youth from Vasco with an iron rod near State Bank of India Vasco on Monday.
According to Vasco Police, the accused Ricky Soares, Ram Chawan, Selton and four others allegedly assaulted Vinod Kumar Bind on his head from behind while he was answering nature's call.
The police said later the seven accused damaged four two wheelers including that of Bind and fled from the scene. Bind was referred to Chicalim Cottage Hospital and was discharged after first aid.
The police added that they have arrested Soares, Chawan and Shelton under Sections 143, 147, 148, 324, 427 read with Section 149 of IPC, while the four other accused are absconding.
The police said the motive of the assault was not known and they are further investigating the case.
