One commits suicide at Aldona
MAPUSA: A 58-year-old woman from Vasco allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a sluice gate at Kolmawada-Aldona on Sunday night.
According to Mapusa Police, Jani Amre from New Vaddem, Vasco, had gone to her mother's house at Kolamwada-Moira on Sunday evening. Her family members on Monday morning found Jani missing from the house and began a search for her. Later in the afternoon, the family members found her body floating in the sluice gate at Aldona.
Mapusa PSI Ramesh Shirodkar rushed to the site and after conducting the panchanama sent the body to GMC for autopsy.
Police sources said the deceased was ill and she was mentally disturbed, as her old mother had passed away about two months ago.
