Continuing its tradition of creating opportunities with personalised banking, TJSB has launched its 139th branch, the first under the Automatic Route, at House No. 686, B.B. Borkar Road, Salvador Do Mundo, Next to Maruti Suzuki Genuine Spare Parts, Porvorim. The branch’s opening ceremony took place on March 26, with the Bank’s Chairman Sharad Gangal inaugurating it. Other board members and the MD and CEO were also present.
Speaking to the citizens and customers of Goa, the chairman reminisced about the values and norms upheld by past directors. With a disciplined but consistent approach to policy-making and its implementation over the past 53 years, the bank has amassed reserves of Rs 1500 crores against a paid-up share capital of Rs 109 crores.
He also highlighted the policy of not granting loans to directors or their relatives since the bank’s inception, along with the payment of a 15% dividend to shareholders, which has fostered confidence among customers, especially depositors. He emphasised the importance of technology and talent in driving future banking, areas in which TJSB is already well-prepared. He concluded by stating that the bank is open to growth through both organic and inorganic means.
Addressing the public, MD and CEO of the bank, Subbalakshmi Shirali, noted Goa’s consistent support for the bank’s business growth, particularly acknowledging the Goa Government’s involvement in the digital banking sector.
