TMC elaborates on how it plans to create 2 lakh jobs

PANAJI

Two days after launching 'Manifesto 2022 “ 10 promises for Goa', the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday elaborated on how it plans to create over 2 lakh jobs over a period of 5 years.

Leading from the front was former Goa chief minister, Rajya Sabha MP and TMC national vice-president Luizinho Faleiro, states a press release.

Addressing a press conference at the party office in Panaji along with Goa TMC vice-president Rajendra Kakodkar, the party assured that their policies will stabilize the livelihoods of all those who were adversely affected by lack of economic foresight by successive governments in the past decade, the release states

Criticising the BJP government heavily for the high rate of unemployment in Goa, TMC claimed that fascist decisions like demonetization coupled with no investment into new industries, no institutes for skill development were amongst the key reasons responsible for joblessness, the release adds.

AITC National Vice-President Luizinho Faleiro said, "More than 16,000 MSMEs have been shut down in Goa post demonetization and industries which were running lucratively have suffered heavy losses. Over 2.5 lakh Goan livelihoods were affected after mining was banned. Since then, the unemployed youth of the State are migrating because the government failed to create opportunities for them. We want to put money back in the hands of people. And it can be achieved by implementing TMC’s 25 schemes which will account for 25% of the State budget."

Assuring the unemployed youth of Goa, Goa TMC Vice-President Rajendra Kakodkar said, "One of Goa TMC’s key promises is to modify industrial policies. We will make sure Goa which ranks the 4th worst State in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ stands among the top 10 in India. We will ensure that 80% jobs are given to Goans, and we will ensure that we achieve the conservative estimate of 2.5 lakh potential employment in Goa."
