Stating that seven candidates of the TMC-MGP alliance are expected to get elected, MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar on Thursday said any decision on a post-poll alliance to form the next government would be taken by its pre-poll alliance partner the Trinamool Congress.
"I am confident that seven candidates will get elected from the TMC-MGP alliance and the purpose of this alliance is to defeat the BJP government. My party will never support the BJP as the party has betrayed MGP twice before,” said Dhavalikar.
Recalling that he had preferred to stay out of the government, rejecting offers to be in the BJP-led government in the past, Dhavalikar said voters should be assured that they will never support the BJP.
“The BJP government in Goa is involved in corruption and people have voted this time for a change to defeat the BJP. I am sure the BJP will be reduced to a single digit,” he said.
“The MGP-TMC will benefit from this public anger against the BJP and there will be some benefit for the AAP and independents. Any decision to extend post-poll support to any other party will be taken by the TMC.”
“The Congress will not benefit as voters have seen how the BJP and Congress have failed to effectively govern the State,” said Dhavalikar.
