The North Goa Tourist Taxi Owners Association on Friday demanded extension in the moratorium period of loan payment and waiver of interest for a year.
“The pandemic has made life miserable for tourist and black and yellow taxi owners. The taxi drivers depend on tourists for their income. For the last six months we are trying to make ends meet. Most of us have no money to pay our EMIs. We appeal to the government to extend the moratorium on loans till March 2021,” said Vasudev Arlekar.
He also requested the government to consider waiving off interests on the EMIs for at least one year.
