It was hardly a sight befitting the Dabolim International Airport, as passengers and taxi drivers were stunned to find a group of persons changing and bathing in full public view outside the airport on Saturday evening.
According to Maruti Shirgaonkar, an airport employee and president of Mormugao Shiv Sena Block, a group of tourists were seen looking out for a bathroom and changing room to freshen up.
‘They then walked to the bathroom outside the airport terminal to find it locked and without thinking twice, immediately undressed and started bathing in full public view with a garden hose in the lawn outside the airport," said Shirgaonkar.
According to other sources, the men are believed to have boarded an aircraft to proceed to some destination.
Shirgaonkar pointed out that the bathroom and changing rooms have been locked for several months, causing problems to passengers landing at Dabolim Airport.
"In this case, the CISF manning the gates at the airport cannot be blamed as they cannot leave the gate for even a minute at peak hours and people at the airport were silent spectators to this eyesore on Saturday evening,' he said.
