Traditional music and dance performances at Carnival float parade in Panaji on Saturday captivate tourists, locals with vibrant rhythms and intricate choreography.

Carnival was formally ushered in on Saturday with the traditional float parade along the river-hugging Dayanand Bandokdar Road in the capital flagged off by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

As is the case every year, thousands of Goans and tourists alike lined up along both the sides of the Road to take a peek at the floats filing past along the route from the Patto Bridge to the Kala Academy.

Traditional music and dance performances pay homage to the State's rich cultural heritage, captivating audiences with their vibrant rhythms and intricate choreography.

With his larger-than-life persona and infectious enthusiasm, King Momo embodies the spirit of revelry and merrymaking that defines the Carnival and presides of the festivities.

Float parades will be also be held in Margao on Sunday and in other towns until Tuesday even as traditional carnival celebrations will be held in scores of Goan villages and towns, simultaneously.
