Traffic police crack down on speeding on NH66 in Pernem

The Traffic Police have begun a drive against vehicles overspeeding on the NH66 highway in Pernem taluka.

On Wednesday, a Traffic Police vehicle was stationed along the NH66 at Torsem-Pernem and penalised a number of vehicles caught overspeeding on the highway.

The Traffic Police vehicle is equipped with speed cameras and CCTVs to intercept motorists who overspeed.

When asked, a Traffic Police sub-inspector said the vehicle will be stationed at different places along the highway in Pernem taluka.

“Many accidents have been taking place due to vehicles moving at high speeds. This police action has been started to penalise motorists who are overspeeding in order to control such accidents,” he said.
