Gloom again descended on the Margao Municipal building following the death of Municipal driver Parshuram Talwar in a road accident in front of the Margao railway station.
This is the second death of a Margao Municipal driver in a week’s time. Driver Raju Madekar had passed away at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, last week due to cardiac arrest when he had gone to Panaji with Margao Civic Chief Damu Shirodkar.
Margao police informed that the accident occurred at around 1.15 am on Monday on the road in front of the Margao railway station between a Yamaha motorcycle and an Aviator scooter.
Police said the 38-year-old Parshuram Talwar, a resident of Davorlim, who was riding the Aviator scooter, sustained injuries and was shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. He succumbed to his injuries later in the day.
Margao police have registered a case of a motor vehicle accident. The post-mortem examination report has certified the cause of death as “head injury with fracture of multiple bones”. The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for the final rites.
