CANACONA
Canacona Taluka Legal Services Authority in association with the District Legal Services Authority organized a tree plantation drive in Agonda village as part of celebrations of World Environment Day.
The Saplings of fruit bearing trees and forest produce were planted at five different spots at Agonda Panchayat, St.Anne’s Institute, Agonda, Government High School, Mudkud Road side area
and Government Primary school.
Judge Avdhi in his address to the students and villagers, requested for creation of awareness by their practices of plantation of tree, keeping the surrounding clean on protection of environment.
Adv. Joyce, in her welcome adress and introduction spoke about the environmental law, deforestation and the link between survival on earth in the absence of orygen provided by the trees.The saplings were provided by Forest Department and Agriculture Department.
Besides, Judge Avdhi of Canacona Court, APP of Canacona court, Canacona Range Forest Office staff, Zonal Agriculture Officer Shivram Naik Gaunkar, Retainer Officer and Panel Lawyer of Canacona Court Adv. Joyce Angela De Souza, Adv. Vijay Gaycar, Agonda Sarpanch and panch members, teachers, students of the respective schools and villagers were present.
