AGASSAIM: A number of trees were destroyed in a fire at the Fr Agnel Pilar Society's agri-park at Pilar on Tuesday.
According to the agri-park incharge Fr Paixao Gonsalves, he rushed to the spot with two workers after receiving news about the fire.
“The fire did not spread too far due to our hard efforts. The lawn and the plants which were grafted were saved, while bamboo trees and other plants and trees were destroyed in the fire,” Fr Paixao informed.
“I suspect someone must have deliberately set fire to our property, but a huge loss was prevented as the fire was quickly brought under control,” he added.
