Two arrested for chain snatching
CURCHOREM: Two youth from Vasco were arrested in connection with three separate incidents of gold chain and mangalsutra snatching at Sanguem and Curchorem on Tuesday.
According to sources in Curchorem Police, Medha Dessai of Lingwada-Cacora complained that two youth snatched her gold mangalsutra, while Taramati Dessai from Madhegal-Cacora complained that her gold chain was snatched by two persons.
In Sanguem, these two youth snatched a mangalsutra of Alka Narvekar of Khairikate-Sanguem. Later, she filed a complaint at Sanguem Police station and gave a description of the two accused who had snatched her mangalsutra. Sanguem Police led by PSI Ramachandra Naik chased the two youth and arrested them.
PSI Naik informed that the two youth were arrested by Sanguem Police and Curchorem Police will also book them for chain snatching crime at Cacora. Sanguem Police registered the offence under Sections 366, 379 of IPC. Police is investigating the case.
