In a dramatic turn of events, police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the murder of 39-year-old Bhavana Tomar, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, whose death occurred under mysterious circumstances at Hotel Raaj Inn in Khobrowado, Calangute.
According to the complaint filed by Abdul Jahir Sarkar of Hotel Raaj Inn, on March 15, between 5 am and 10.45 pm, unknown male and female suspects trespassed into the hotel with a common intention.
They entered Room No. 1, where Tomar was staying, and brutally murdered her.
In addition to the murder, the culprits are accused of stealing a white bag and her mobile phone.
Following the incident, Calangute Police Station registered a case under Sections 329(3), 303(2), and 103 read with 3(5) of BNS 2023.
An intensive investigation was launched immediately.
Within 24 hours, police identified the accused duo as Rahul (40), a resident of Delhi, and Rashmi (43) of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
After the crime, both suspects initially absconded.
However, diligent police teams later arrested Rahul in Delhi and Rashmi in Indore.
Both have now been remanded in police custody as the investigation continues.
