The Panaji police have arrested two men from Telangana for allegedly stealing Rs 5.7 lakh from a fellow guest at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Details shared by Panaji police stated that the complainant, Madugula Karthik, a resident of Kukatpally, Hyderabad, reported that on September 9, cash amounting to Rs 5.70 lakh was stolen from his baggage in the hotel room.
The complainant alleged that the accused, Thumu Raviiteja and Shaik Ashraf, befriended him and managed to share his hotel room before committing the theft. During the investigation, police teams analysed CCTV footage and tracked the suspects through local sources. The accused were arrested on Wednesday.
