MAPUSA:
Mapusa farmers waved black flags and shouted slogans as the convoy of Union Environment and Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar zipped passed them to attend a meeting of BJP office bearers and kissan morcha at the North Goa BJP district office in Mapusa.
Several farmers censured the union minister for failing to meet them before the farm bills were steamrolled in the Parliament.
“Why has he come to Goa now? Couldn’t he take the farmers into confidence before passing the farm bills?” questioned Ravi Harmalkar, a farmer.
The farmers also slammed the union minister for diverting the Mhadei River to Karnataka.
