Dumping of rotten grass from the SAG stadium Fatorda on the government acquired land near the swimming pool raised a stink and an uproar on Tuesday.
Social activists slammed the stadium authorities over the waste dumping on the open property which was used as a make shift bus stand during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city for the Viksit Bharat event. In fact, activists Santan Pereira and Joseph Fernandes got the contractor to reload the grass waste back in the pick-up van.
Santan told the media that the rotten grass raised a stink in the entire locality. This is certainly not the right mode of disposing of the rotten grass, he added. Joseph said he is a resident of the adjoining housing society, adding that the waste emitted an unbearable odour in the entire locality.
