Uprooting of trees, waterlogging of roads, house wall collapse reported in Salcete

Rains disrupted normal life in Salcete with reports of trees falling on houses and electric lines reported from many areas. 

The fire brigade also fished out a decomposed body of a middle aged person from the river Sal at Carmona.

The compound of the Osia commercial complex was waterlogged, leaving people with no option than to wade through the water to make it to the offices and establishments.

Two houses were damaged at Sonarwaddo in Raia village, causing loss of over Rs 30,000.

Fire Officer Gill D’Sa informed that a car was damaged at the housing board area of the city.

Navelim village reported a couple of incidents of uprooted trees falling on the roads. Uprooted trees also damaged electric lines at two areas in the village.

Gill informed that a tree came crashing down on the gate of the South Goa district Court building.

He said that Varca village has reported an incident wherein a wall of a house had come crashing down.
