Upsurge in Goa Covid-19 graph: 3 more deaths, 547 infections

Goa experienced yet anothermajor spike in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases with 547 being recorded onSaturday along with 433 recoveries and three Covid-related deaths. A total of176 Covid-related deaths have been reported from the state so far.

The number of active Covid-19cases in the state now stands at 3,646 of whom 291 are asymptomatic patientswho are under home isolation. A total of 16,553 cases have been confirmed inthe state, the majority of which have been recorded over the last two months.

Among the patients who losttheir lives in the last 48 hours is a 70 year-old man from Bicholim admitted atGoa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, a 30 year-old man from Old Goaadmitted at GMC, a 68 year-old man from Fatorda admitted at ESI Covid Hospitalin Margao. All patients suffered from comorbid conditions.

Meanwhile, among the personswho tested positive recently are former Tivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar, his wife andhis daughter. They have opted for home quarantine and have requested those who camein contact with them to get themselves tested. Kandolkar’s son has testednegative.
