OLD GOA
Stating that the vaccine Covishield is safe with no side effects, Chimbel PHC medical officer Dr Jude D’Souza urged the people to come forward for the vaccine.
“Even though misinformation is spread on the social media about the vaccine, I have not seen any major side effects,” Dr D’Souza informed while adding that his 84-year-old father has already received the vaccine along with himself and his in-laws.
“We should start from our home and then spread the word among others,” Dr D’Souza stated.
“The main aims of vaccination are to prevent the severity of the infection and to achieve herd immunity. Once everybody takes vaccine, the pandemic will be brought under control,” Dr D’Souza opined and congratulated the local BJP leaders for conducting a well organized and successful drive at Merces.
Speaking further, Dr D’Souza said that the vaccination is done at Chimbel PHC at BSNL Quarters-Bambolim daily, even on Sundays and holidays.
“Now we are going to start vaccination in Santa Cruz, Taleigao and Chimbel also,” he stated and added that there is no shortage as far as the vaccine is concerned. “Only the people have to come forward,” he added.
“Apart from the vaccination, we are also conducting testing at three places namely Casa do Povo-Taleigao on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at Provedoria-Chimbel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and at Santa Cruz on Tuesday and Thursday,” Dr D’Souza informed.
