Valpoi

The long-awaited new building of the Divisional Agriculture Office in Valpoi will be inaugurated on June 13 at 11 am by Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Pramod Sawant. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane will also attend the function.

The inauguration was initially scheduled for May 22 but was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. With the project now complete, farmers in Sattari will soon have access to a modern and better-equipped agriculture office.

Sattari is known for its strong agricultural base, and the Divisional Agriculture Office plays a key role in implementing government schemes, handling farmer documentation and supporting agricultural development. The previous office faced space constraints and ageing infrastructure, prompting long-standing demands for a new facility.

The project was pursued by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and approved by the Agriculture Department. Construction began about four years ago and was completed after overcoming initial delays.

The new building includes a well-equipped hall for training programmes, seminars, workshops and agricultural guidance sessions. It will also host exhibitions and farmer-focused activities aimed at promoting modern farming techniques and awareness of government schemes.

Divisional Agriculture Officer Vishwanath Gawas said the new office would help deliver more efficient services to farmers across Sattari.
