Vasco always grateful to Parrikar for clearing Baina red-light area: BJP

VASCO
The Vasco BJP Mandal on Monday said the port town would always be indebted and grateful to former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar for having cleared the red-light area in Baina.

The Vasco BJP Mandal had organised a programme at the Brahmasthal Temple in Baina to offer tributes to late Parrikar on his birth anniversary.

"A large number of people have offered tributes to Parrikar who went on to become union defence minister and make Goa proud. He had also carried out a successful surgical strike against Pakistan,” said Vasco BJP Mandal President Deepak Naik.

“Today, we see a strong BJP only because of Parrikar who took all communities into confidence. While Parrikar got the BJP in power, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has successfully taken the government forward and people will surely elect BJP with a big margin in the upcoming elections,” said Naik.

BJP State Executive Member and Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Jayant Jadhav said the port town could never forget Parrikar’s role in clearing the red-light area at Baina.

"I have now become chairman of Ravindra Bhavan in Baina which is located at the same place where a red-light area existed. Parrikar had cleared the red-light area in Baina in 2004 and he had a political will to eradicate the black mark we had in Mormugao taluka and we can never forget him for that,” said Jadhav.

Former MPDA chairman Krishna Daji Salkar said the Vasco BJP commemorates the birth anniversary of Goa’s tallest leader who had a vision and dream for Goa.

“We must take this forward and we are sure people will help us to successfully achieve his dreams," said Salkar.
