VASCO
"The people of Vasco have had to face inconvenience for so many years due to the Kadamba bus stand issue. The project plans will come by this month end and work on the modern KTC bus stand may begin in a year or two with all financial and administrative approvals,” said Salkar, while speaking to reporters.
“The people were facing a lot of hardship because the roads leading to and from the bus stand were all dusty and there were potholes as well. The depot staff said roads inside the depot are full of dust, affecting their health.”
“We then requested the State government for additional budget to do the tarring of the internal road inside the depot and we were asked to prepare the estimates. We thank PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral who immediately sanctioned the additional work. The work will now be continued and the entire KTC bus stand area roads will be tarred, including the road inside the depot within the next 10 days," said Salkar.
Salkar also thanked Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho for his help with the bus stand project.
“The work to tar the KTC bus stand was taken up at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore, but now the cost of the work has gone to Rs 2 crore with the work to tar internal roads inside the depot," said Salkar.
