The environment in Vasco-da-Gama market turned a little tensed when the fishing community in the port city agitated after a new Wholesale Fish outlet was inaugurated.
The fisherfolk opposed the sale of fish at the newly opened outlet and also claimed foul play in obtaining of licence by the store owners. However, the Chief Officer rejected all the allegations stating the owners of the store have the required permissions and licence. The CO has further stated that the fisherfolk raise their objections with the MMC over the establishment of the new outlet.
