New underpass eliminates 12-km detour

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Vasco, aimed at improving connectivity in South Goa.
The project connects Vasco city with Dabolim Airport, Margao and other parts of South Goa. The upgraded underpass, with a vertical clearance of 4 metres, will allow ambulances, fire engines and other emergency vehicles to pass through without requiring a 12-km detour.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sawant said the RUB would help improve urban mobility and provide safer and faster connectivity for the public.
The function was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanawade, ministers Ramesh Tawadkar and Mauvin Godinho, MLAs Krishna V. Salkar and Sankalp Amonkar, along with DRM Hubballi Bela Meena and senior railway officials.
