According to Vasco Police, a naval official on Wednesday at about 2.30 pm took Atul Dicholkar (25) of New Vaddem, an AC technician at Dabolim airport, in an injured condition to the police station.
Police said upon inquiry, Dicholkar claimed that some naval persons had assaulted him before taking him to the police station.
On noticing Dicholkar with injuries to his right leg and other areas of his body, police referred him to Chicalim Cottage Hospital, from where he was shifted to GMC hospital.
Police sources disclosed that Dicholkar was sighted at the Jogger’s Park behind the Naval Officers’ Residential Quarters at Chicalim.
“The minor girl, who is the daughter of a naval officer, had given the description of Dicholkar to her father and acting on the tip-off, the naval personnel along with the girl’s father rushed to Jogger’s Park,” said the source.
On noticing the naval vehicle, Dicholkar fled on his motorcycle and on reaching near Chicalim ground, the naval personnel dashed their vehicle against the two-wheeler and later assaulted him with metal pipes, the source added.
