ACB begins probe into complaint of Adv Gomes

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has commenced investigations into the complaint lodged by city-based lawyer, Adv Rajiv Gomes, who had alleged a scam in the use of the parking land by the SGPDA for commercial use.

Sources in the know said that SGPDA officials have produced certain files concerning the allotment of the parking land to hold exhibitions-cum-sales over the years. It is learnt that the ACB sleuths have asked the SGPDA officials to produce certain documents concerning the parking land.  
While Adv Gomes had alleged a scam in the allotment of the parking land for commercial purpose, the SGPDA had at its last meeting dismissed claims of a scam, saying that the revenue collected from the allotment of the parking land for commercial use stands accounted.  
Moreover, SGPDA Chairman Mauvin Godinho, while clarifying that there’s scam in the matter, had, however, pointed out that the PDA will seek legal opinion to ascertain whether land acquired for parking can be utilized to hold exhibitions.
